Hi Everyone, first time airplane and first time post. Planning on buying a Kitfox in Mesa AZ and need to rent trailer or hire ferry pilot to bring airplane back to Granite Bay (Near Sacramento Ca). I don't have my license yet which is why I am not flying it myself. I appreciate your help!

I may know the aircraft. What airport are you going to keep it at?

Flying out of Auburn or Lincoln but will hanger at my house. Been doing my training out of Auburn and will use current CFI to do my transition training. Looking forward to fly-ins and continuing my education. Kitfox forum is a wealth of information!!

Having transported my kitfox on a trailer for 4 years now (a two mile run to the airport on a two lane road) I would fly it instead of a trailer if at all possible. On rare occasions I have had it on the freeways and the machine takes a beating what with semi's and rough roads. See the "trailering a kit fox" sticky on the forum.

Welcome Neighbor!. I live in Cameron Park. I suspect from the responses, you might have found a ferry pilot, but if trailering is in the works, I have a spring loaded tail support that you can borrow to protect the tailwheel and aft structure from the hard bounces. Looking forward to meeting you.

Yep.....He found a ferry pilot and that would be me. I’ve got a few days off, soooooo off I go next week. Flew it yesterday from FFZ to my house at P19. Flys straight and stable.....perfect for George. He’ll love the Kitfox just like all of us do.

Lowell, you are the first person I thought about for some questions he’ll have after delivery. It’s a great start for him and you’re the perfect “neighbor”......a long with everyone else on this forum.

Congratulations George! Welcome to Kitfox.

Russ, glad you are flying it home for George. Dan built a nice Kitfox and George will have years of fun with it. Have a safe trip. :)

Hi Guys,

Yes I feel pretty lucky to have bought Dan's Kitfox. He got some expert support in building his airplane and the quality shows. Thanks everyone for your help, especially Dan the builder and Russ, who will ferry it up to Auburn next week. Looks like I will have to build a trailer and keep it at my house, as the local airports have no hanger space available (Looked at Lincoln and Auburn so far). I haven't even completed my light sport license yet. My CFI will provide transition training and then I need to do my 2 cross country flights and then I will be ready for my check ride. Kitfox has such a great reputation, I am looking forward to many adventures in 314DW (Love that call sign Delta Whiskey).

Congratulations on your new Kitfox! I hanger at home as well, kind of pain but worth it. I am on the hanger list at my airport and that is where it will go when one opens up. Merry Christmas to all my Kitfox brothers.:) Mike
