Rotary valve oil 582

Somebody told my that their 582 doesn't use any oil from the rotary valve reservoir. Mine uses a tiny amount over time. Is it supposed to use oil or is there something wrong with mine?

You must mean rotary valve.I have only seen one that uses oil we suspected a weeping seal but never found the problem as the plane isn't at our field now.If the usage is minor just keep an eye on the level.if there are no external leaks it must be internal and not an ea$y fix.
