Just got a fairly good quote. Anyone have experience with Old Republic? It's through BWIFLY.com.

No, but how about a few basic details-coverage amounts, premium, etc.

That is a good premium.

I just got mine renewed for $1040 for $65K value with full coverage. I did chose to have the medical payments per pax reduced from 10K to 5K and that made a difference. Last year mine was just under $1300. I don't know if my premium went down after going from 0 to almost 100 hours time in type last year.

I'm about $1050 for $1m of liability and $60k hull from Falcon (EAA).

My perspective. When my wife Kay and I went down in a not too good (OK pretty bad) emergency landing in the Sierra Nevada foothills that destroyed my airplane, we each spend a few hours in the emergency room. Me with a compression fracture in my upper spine and a sprained ankle. Kay suffered a puncture wound in her leg from a broken piece of structural tubing and a broken thumb. Because of the need for a minor surgical procedure to clean out where the tubing had scraped a bone in her lower leg, her emergency room costs were more than mine. We were both astounded by the bill for her four and a half hour stay - $39,000. My bill was about half that. On that exact same day - we departed at 6:00 am, another airplane departed about noon - a Bonanza. By coincidence, TV crews were at the airport to get video as background for the news coverage of our "crash" to be broadcast that evening when the Bonanza departed. Watch to the end to see what can happen to a Kitfox trying to land in hills mostly covered by intimidating oak trees.

Bad stuff can happen. Today, Liability is my most serious concern. Then comes hull coverage. FYI, I no longer give rides. I am too old to recover financially if someone got nasty in the event of injury or worse.

Just food for thought.
