I took my SS7 up for the first flight this morning. It was a short flight because of oil temp and pressure readings not where i would like. Not sure how big an issue it is. But the plane felt great. Just a quick lap around the patch. Only went to 600' but wanted to keep going.
A debt of gratitude goes to Louie (vetrem) for the training in his model 3; and coming out for the flight this morning, as well as my wife and dog.
It's a good day! Ken

Boat is almost ready to launch. If it doesn't sink in the travel lift slip I'll be back working on the Kitfox in a couple of weeks.

Geowitz you are correct. My wife Dori was/is very supportive and did the entire interior minus the carpet. Hope to see you again sometime. As i remember you used to be into radio control, as i was too.

Did you track down the Oil temp and Pressure readings issue?

I think oil pressure is ok. But oil temp keeps teaching max of 225. So im going to install an oil cooler. Researching now which one to go with. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know. Ken

Don't know if that is out of range as I am a newbie myself with 912s but this webpage says that is the normal range.

I have heard if you don't get the temps up it does not evaporate the water (condensate) in the motor. Others with more experience will chime in.
I have my oil cooler taped off most of the time to achieve min temps.

225 F is okay for the oil temp . depending on ambient temps.

The max redline is 266 F.

O200 max is 225 with mineral oil, 245 regular oil.

Looking forward to it Ken, on the oil cooler I am building a Panther with a 0320 lycoming and space is very tite so for the oil cooler I am using an Earls "20700" in place of the stock oil cooler, have used them on race cars with great service
