My inspector is asking me to fill out a form 8130-15. I am registering the plane as an experimental LSA. any experience with this?

I'm trying to get the form to download so I can read it, but it wont download. Why aren't you registering it experimental amateur built? I think that is what most everyone uses. JImChuk

When doing the paperwork for my Mangy, my local FSDO office sent me a completed 8130-15 form for me to sign. They had already filled in the information they wanted.

Ask the inspector for assistance filling the form out.

Tom,
YES.. alot of experience.. You cannot use the 8130-15 Statement of Compliance. That is for E-LSA kits only. You are NOT registering as a E-LSA. You should use a 8130-6 registering as an E-AB... As an E-AB your aircraft meets the definition of Light Sport Aircraft under FAR 1.1 and therefore can be flown by a Sport Pilot.
This does get very confusing.. but bottom line use the 8130-6 and your weight and balance should have a max gross weight of 1320 on gear and 1430 on floats.
