My question is about the rectifier overload protection ,manual calls for a 30 amp slow burning fuse? Is this different than a standard fuse will a 30 amp breaker work as well.Thanks.

All fuses and breakers have a characteristic plot which describes how fast they react to full load or overload currents. Some are quick, some slow. Designers pick the device to match the application.

If you look you should find either a slow reacting breaker or fuse for that application.
