I'm looking for the channel with a round squishy foam bead to put over the sharp edges of my firewall.

What is it & where can I get it?

Kitfox Aircraft has it, not too expensive. It grips tight and follows curves.

No, the 7 kit is different, it has a 3-piece cowl. The cowl to firewall joint is riveted and sealed.
