Hi all, I picked up this Kitfox 1 last fall, that needed a bit of work. Got it ship shape and made the first flights for me with it this evening. Here is a lousy utube video showing the first flight I did. Enjoy! Jim Chuk

Really nice. I like the classic look of the classics. I also appreciate keeping the heritage alive.

Congrats!.....looks like you made good use of the last 7 minutes of daylight!

An important day in the life of a builder!

Thanks guys. I don't remember if I ever posted this info when I first got the plane or not, but will do it now. Someone wrote up a magazine article about this plane, the copy I got with the plane looks like a kitplanes magazine article but doesn't have any advertising on the pages. I think Kitfox used it a part of their sales brochure. Anyway, here it is. Interesting bit of history anyway. Jim Chuk

Jim, that article sure reminded me of the decisions/experiences I went through before I purchased my first Kitfox. Picked up my kit at the Nampa factory Dec.21/89. Dan Denny gave me my first ride in the Fox demonstrator, and the second photo, shows my kit, loaded for the ride home to Calgary.

No low bridges on the ride home I guess? ;-) Are you still flying that plane? Jim Chuk

Yes Jim, the kit made it all the way home without problem. Still flies occasionally, just around annual inspection time. My preference these days is my Model 5.
Haven't been able to part with the Model 2, it's kinda like your firstborn.

Hi guys. Did a bit more flying in the Kitfox 1 this evening. Did 5 take offs and landings. Got the wife to shoot some video of a take off and landing. I put them up on utube. Hope the links work. Enjoy! JImChuk
