I am getting closer... she now looks like a Kitfox, and there is so much still left to do.... but it is time to show that progress has been made over the past 3 years. I have a lot of wiring to finish, labels to place, etc... but I see that this is going to become a reality!

First, I wish to sincerely thank Lowell Fitt, who has been extremely helpful! He has no idea how much I appreciate his help and guidance. He spent a whole day with me, and allowed me to photograph every square inch of his aircraft, which has been of invaluable assistance to me in my build. I showed up with a couple pages of written questions, to which he answered every one, making sure I not only had an answer, but he showed me where/how on his aircraft. I can not thank him enough! Lowell, you are awesome sir!

I also need to thank some of his friends who attended, and provided me some answers and options at a gathering at Cameron Air Park.

I also need to thank all of you who have posted on this forum. You have all been not only "digital mentors," but have also provided motivation.

Our Kitfox factory folks, John and Deb have been great providing parts and materials for our older and no longer in production aircraft... THANK YOU!

So, yes, I am very happy as I do my final assembly, and start on that massive list of details! Thank you everyone!

Merry Christmas!

Grover

Gover,
I am truly humbled. I can't imagine anyone on this forum not eagerly doing what I did. I have always felt the best thing about this airplane is the people it attracts. My closest friends ever came about when we found each other at Kitfox events. Additionally, I am very impressed with what the pictures show. The colors and design are fantastic.

Amen Lowell.

My first Kitfox opened up a whole new life for me and brought me the very best of friends and unforgetable aviation experiences. :)

Grover,
Congratulations on your accomplishments!
Looks considerably different than 6065G, but then it should.
Thanks for the updates.

Grover, that looks great! And nice that you took the time to thank people like Lowell (who I have never had the pleasure of meeting) who make the build process so 'doable' and enjoyable - this site should be/is one of the greatest selling points for Kitfox Aircraft after the machine itself!

Looking forward to your reports of the final stages and flyoff Grover!

cheers

Thanks for the compliments!

Lou, there was no way I was going to paint mine to match 6065G! She now has found a great owner again, and I can't wait to see photos and videos of you taking her skyward. Bob Forsyth will be smiling down looking at us!! (Oh how I miss that guy....46 years of great friendship....)

Hey Grover...lookin' good!

Got a question....what wing tips are you using on your 1200?

Dave,
I believe they are called the Kitfox Speedster tips. I will be slightly modifying the fiberglass in the area of where the nav/strobe lights attach next week, so I can attach a photo of that work.

I have 38 machine screws in each wing tip, so they will be detachable. Hopefully if I ever go through the sound barrier, they stay on! LOL!

Cheers, Grover

Dave,
Here is a photo of my wing tips... I am still not happy with them... some more detail work needs to be done before I get to the final yellow color!

Cheers,
Grover

Your plane looks very nice.
Wiring is always fun, at least for me. Remember, wiring is like life. Solid connections make all the difference. :)
