View Full Version : IV rigging question...

Rigging my new model IV I find that when the flap handle is all the way up and I then move the stick to the left that the right flapperon leading edge hits a hinge which then forces the flap handle down a bit. This is not the case when moving the stick full right. Full flap, full right, no flap handle push. Full flap, full left, flap pushed down.
Normal? Or what?
Thx,
Jon

Jon,
I think that is fairly normal. As I recall in the early days some found that with full flaps they could stall the flaperons. Most block the flap deployment at some point. Mine has a stop at 20 degrees. Since I rarely use flaps, I am definitely not an expert there.

Mine are rigged for full flap deflection of 26 degrees. I've never had flapperon stall or control inversion at this setting. I use full flap deflection often.
I can get enough reflex (flap up) to trim for 70 mph. Sorry I don't know the reverse angle there.
