Looks like Maddie just removed his snow skis. I must admit two great looking Kitfoxes. Looks like you had some fun. I got out flying today spent about 1.8 hours, doing touch and go. I also installed go my GoPro mount installed after I did some flying, I did some Taxi testing to make sure the camera doesn't blow off. I need to remove my GoPro mount and angle it a little.

Looking at the Advanced Flight weather it said Llano was IFR most of today, later this afternoon it changed to Marginal IFR. I flew south west towards Granbury, and you could see the front, it started to get marginal so I headed home. We have ****ty weather coming here tonight.

Gee Chase your finding all sorts of Missouri Kitfox flyers! :D
Must have been an interesting flight with all the winds aloft that day.

Cool pic of Maddie in front of the Gooney Bird.

Weather in our state is going down the dumper this week. Time to get the non-flight jobs checked off the to-do list... ;)

Yeeh buddy they were a blowing at altitude here..it was mainly out of the south east ,..Maddie and I were getting pushed around pretty good,..went up to 6500 ASL still rough,..so found the smoothest air between 4000 and 4500 ASL and stayed there for the short flight,..the old kitfox didn't want to come down once we got home I had to circle trying to get out of the thermals to get into the pattern altitude at our home base,..
Casey's gorgeous kitfox 5 (Thumbs up) and maybe we can get the guys up near California MO to hook up with us too,.we aren't far from having a Squadron :D

Hopefully we can all enjoy the BBQ fly in weather and schedules permitting,at Sullivan KUUV on May 2nd,,its starts around 11:00 it's right off the rte 44 exit for Sullivan on the N. side of 44,..N/E of Rolla about 20 plus/minus miles.

I was through thru there a few years back bringing a decathlon from San Diego to Maryland. The hangar behind the fuel truck had some really nice birds in it.

it was originally built for training pilots for the military back in the 1900's, it use to have 3 runways but only 2 used now..seems the story I got was they landed aircraft that were too heavy for the one runway that's closed..its D airspace but no tower, and yes some nice aircraft in the hangar behind the fuel truck,..at one time I'm told it housed a P-51 not long ago :)

for sure one of those places that if hangars could talk...the stories of the people and aircraft that have been based there.....

Thanks for the link Chase. Interesting reading. Typically laid out triangle military airport. Wind direction would not be a factor for a student pilot with the 3 runways.
We still have several WW2 airfields in the desert around Phoenix with that same configuration although a few have been swallowed up by urban sprawl never to return.

your welcome Steve,..I like the nostalgia,.and your right,.there are allot of WW11 and other airports getting swallowed by townships expanding,..although less in Missouri then other states

I have a friend, x-coworker, who lives in Rolla. I've been wondering about a good place to set down when I'm able to fly down to see her.
