Wide tape under rib stitch?

Getting ready to rib stich my wings on a Model III. For a rib this wide, what is typically done for the tape under the stitching with regard to width? Prefer adhesive backed if able. One narrow strip, two side by side, or is there some wide stitching tape available (maybe 1.25" wide or similar)?

The reinforcing tape is 1/2" wide. Normal practice is to put two tapes side by side to cover the full 1" width of the cap strips.
