You'll find a large variance between different aircraft owners in the U.S. For my Model III (hull value $22,000) and me at somewhere over 500 hours I pay a little under $1,000 a year through Falcon Insurance in Kerrville Texas.

I'm paying $1500/year for my SS7 taildragger, $50,000 hull value, 300 hour Sport Pilot, 270 taildragger hours. Insurance is thru Falcon also.

Thanks very much for your info. - This insurance then covers your plane, pilot and passanger - is that correct..

Kind regards,

We also have (in the USA) what we call "liability" insurance. This is to cover damage to other people's property or persons in the event of an accident.

My coverage (not different from the others):

$1 Million liability
$30,000 Hull coverage

There is also "Hull not in motion" coverage that can be added instead of full hull coverage. This covers damage to your airplane if it is not in motion. For instance if you are parked at an airport and a sudden wind damages it.

I have about 500 hours of time in type and a little more tail dragger total time.
Annual premium $1200.

I carry full liability with no hull insurance for ~$500 through Avemco.
