You won't regret it Tom. You just saved yourself some grief and jumped in higher on the learning curve.

Really feel for you on your cracked windshield. Is a new one on its way?

As much fuel as I found on the bottom of the fuselage, I am lucky I didn't end up flying a FireFox. When I found the leak, I had finally talked my wife into going flying in my plane, we were getting the plane ready, and the smell of Fuel was overwhelming when we opened the door. We pulled the seat to find a large puddle of Fuel. My wife has refused to fly in the plane ever since.

Yes, the new windshield is on its way. The crack was a result of a stupid move. I did read your message and will definitely give your suggestions a try.

I'm currently using one in my Mangy Fox rebuild. I will definitely pitch it if it ever shows signs of leaking, but it never did during it's life so far...

Mine leaked a little and it's currently fixed but aluminum is in my future as well.

Been using aluminum header tanks since 2000.
Never one drop of leaked fuel.

Does anyone have a source for the aluminum tank other than the folks at Kitfox?

Try your friendly neighborhood fabrication & welding shop?

Probably work out more expensive than direct from Kitfox, though...

I have no clue how good of work Murle Williams does, his web site shows a header tank. I have never purchased anything from him, but you can check out his products.

Everything I've gotten from Murle has been excellent.
