Anyone have any instructions or pictures on how to install the turtle deck angle?

Here are a couple. Angle taped against carry-through and flush against aluminum angle across butt ribs, with plexi spacer in between

Ah! There lies my confusion. I thought it went on the aft end of the turtledeck.

Thanks!

There you go!...it's used to screw down the the back edge of the windscreen & make a place for the front of the turtle deck to slide under.:)

Josh there is an angle that goes on the aft of the turtle deck. You mount it with the cam loc rivits on those tabs. Make sure you install it prior to covering.

Do you have pictures of this install?

I'd like to see that as well. My 2008 kit did not have that feature.

Josh, I don't have a picture handy. To install the angle take the first picture that you posted trim the angle to the inside width of the fuselage and mount the angle to the Cam-loc tabs with rivets. The angle part drops down into the baggage area. Sorry I don't have a picture. If you still need a picture then let me know. The purpose of this angle is to make an uphill slope at the aft of the turtle deck so water can't wick up the aft edge of the turtle deck and drip into the baggage sack. This is the biggest source of water in the fuselage.

Here's a picture I took while installing mine. Bonded it to the cross tube and then riveted through it to install the cam lock sockets as Scott mentioned.

The angle that Scott is talking about is a new feature of the SS7 kits. Older kits will not have it. My kit was purchased in 2011 and it did not include this angle. It sounds like a good idea to make one up yourself if your kit did not include it.

Thanks for the picture, so I don't need to cut slots for the tabs to go through then. That was my confusion.

The angle lays right on top of the tabs. Here are some pictures showing the underside.

John B.

Is that a BRS mount on the left side of the baggage compartment?

Nope, that's just my ELT mount.
