What tool should I get to make the countersinks for the AN246AD-3-4 solid rivets that are used to attach the wingtip attachment plates? These have a 100 degree angle for the countersink.

Or - how should I do it?

Thanks

Tom

Tomfox,

My assumption is Kitfox should have these available since the kit calls for 100 degree

Otherwise a machine tool company should have them.....for example MSC below (and others)

For what it is worth.....single flute countersinks, in my experience, make a much neater cut without chattering or tool marks. I did get three different sizes, however, I don't think a person would need more than one size as larger diameter countersinks can be used on any smaller diameter work.

For bonus points...the single flute countersink makes a great deburring tool.

This might sound strange at first read, but I much prefer the Zero Flute Countersink. I happened on one many years ago at an aircraft fastener business owned by a friend. I then searched for a replacement not knowing what they were called. Amazon has them.

Lowell,

Is that the one which instead of a flute has a round hole cut into the side of the cone?

For what it's worth, For the use you are contemplating. Harbor freight has a multi size pack for just a few bucks. I used them for a bunch of different things & they worked great.
