Got cancer. Treatable; cureable.
Sold perfect 172 of 19 years ownership.
Kicking the cancer but don't want to go through the FAA BS for the PP.
Funny, still have valid medical.
Want KF for driver's license.
Can forum help me determine which KF can do the 1320 lb with a 233, 235 or so?
Under the circumstances, I'm looking for something almost disposable.
Can mechanic on it; 1000 hrs airtime; no bending.
Want tailwheel this time.
TIA gents:)

First off, welcome to our little corner of the interwebs.

Hoping all goes well for your fight with the big C.

If you want to run a Lycoming, you will be looking for a 5, 6, 7 or Super Sport. Be cautious, these planes are also available with max t/o weight of 1550, making them ineligable for light sport. Many of the 5-7 were papered to this higher weight.

What do you mean disposable? Are you looking for a fixer-upper/wreck?

Why not the Rotax 912 engine?

Slinger,

We have two local KF people who have continentals in their series 5 KFs....one is registered as EAB and the other is LS. The beauty of the KF is its light weight to begin with.:)

I happen to have a heavy series 7 with more stuff on it that weighs up than most...still have lots of weight capacity although it is an EAB.

Sincerely,

I had a similar problem with Cancer. I decided SLSA was the answer. personally I would highly recommend the Rotax, performance is great, sips the fuel.

I hope you the best with your decision, and the best in the personal fight.

I think one of the reasons I really like the Rotax is because when I replace spark plugs, oil filters, fuel pump, etc. The cost of the parts are very reasonable. The cost of maintenance has be much less than my old Cessna's Contenental.
