Just posted from EAA.

Thunderbird's demonstration team flights expanded aerobatics box will have minor impact on AirVenture operations. See link below for details and possible impact on your AirVenture plans.

In any case it will be one of the highlights of 2014 to see some of the very best pilots on Earth performing at AirVenture.:)

That is either going to need to change or they will never be back.

A whole lot of aircraft owners are going to be very upset that they will be restricted from their own aircraft for nearly the entire afternoon, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This is nothing but the FAA flexing their muscles in the face of the EAA.

Okaaay, nice to announce this after pre-show ticket sales closed. Guessing my amphib friends are not gonna be happy. Not to mention this also shuts down the one and only small shower house someone decided was sufficient for everyone in the UL and all other camping south last year. Sure was nice to wash off the heat and grime from a long day of OSH trekking before relaxing under wing with a cold beverage and the afternoon air show...

The main one is Oshkosh Truck, they cover the majority of the area to the east of the airport. I guess they are going to shut down at 1 pm Friday through Sunday…

The more I think about it, it seems almost impossible to police this second flight line for the entire afternoon during the most busy days of the show. The manpower requirements will be enormous! A huge portion of the grounds will now be restricted, including what looks to be all of the experimental area along the flight line, half of the classic parking, and all of the amphibious parking in the south end.

Not to mention what was last year the new extreme high rent VIP areas!
