Serial Number Location - Model III

Been trying to locate the serial number on a Model III that I have been looking at but have not had any luck. My assumptions were to look at the triangular plate at the front of the horizontal stab and also the upper seat belt harness tube. No joy either location. Should I look somewhere else?

The serial #(1200) on my model III is stamped into the small triangle plate welded onto the crossbar it's the tab the upper seat belts fasten to My fuselage was powder coated yellow so it was really hard to see I rubbed it with a black marker then wiped it with alcohol to bring up the numbers.
