Hi everyone, first post.
Tony Partain will have my partially built Kitfox 7S delivered on Monday?
Started building a set of wing rotisserie's from some Harbor Freight engine
Stands. Question, will 2in. PVC fit into the fwd. and aft spars. I've read on
here that their are some rivets in the aft spar that get in the way of the PVC
pipe? Would it be ok to use 1 and half in. pipe instead. Any info appreciated.
Looking forward to getting started. Great forum!!

FWIW. This is not an exact answer to your question but may help.

Mine were all wood with 2x4s ripped to 2x2s. My math says the diagonal of those 2x2s was 2.3 inches. They fit with some slop but worked fine.

I think I used 2" abs because that's what I had on hand at the time. I just made them long enough to go in 'till they hit something, doesn't take much to hold the wings. I live at Skyranch in Sandy Valley (3L2) if you would like to look at a series 6 that I have been building for the last 14 years.

Use inch and a half. When you put on your spar enforcement plates, they should be able to still fit in between.

Now that I am thinking about it though, it maybe inch and a quarter as the inch and a quart is ID. I'll have to check when I;m home. My PVC JUST fits between those plates and rivets.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I'm going try with using (1) one and half in. PVC pipe for the wing root
side, and (1) 2" PVC pipe on the wingtip side of the LE spar (on each stand) since it looks
like in the build manual the rivet heads are inside the root spars
Just trying to get ready for delivery so I can hang the wings up.
Thanks again,

I just went out and measured my rotisserie. I used 1 1/2" x 10" abs. The outside diameter of the abs is 1 7/8". The inside diameter of the spars on the series 6 is 2 3/8". I never had a problem with the wings staying exactly where I wanted them too while I worked on them.

Thanks Steve,
Looks like what I'm attempting is going to work to start off with. New house with two car garage, not a lot of room, I'll make it work. My neighbors are going to
love this? I'll stay in touch. Would like to drive up and meet and see your work.
Thanks,
Ted

Trust me, do NOT use 2" PVC for SS7... It won't fit on either end... just barely, but it won't fit. I returned my 2" PVC and purchased a 1.5" diameter and it works great!

Thanks Mike,
I was just about to cut. Without the wings here it is
hard to get this ready for delivery of aircraft. I'll change
it up and when all set up I'll post some pics and info.
Thanks,
Ted

Kitfox arrived Tuesday, used 1.5 in. PVC and worked great. A little loose, but very
secure. 8 false ribs to repair. 2in. PVC would have been to big to fit in the spars on the root ends. Thanks for the help, looking forward to getting started.

I also used 1-1/2" for the PVC tubes, but on the ones for the wingtip ends I glued on a 1-1/2" PVC coupling for a better fit.
