If you go with option "A", then you have room for a map pocket or glovebox on the right side...

actually I am putting the "Movie theater" glove box. on the right for Madison :),..but will have room either way..the DVD player is 9" x 5"

Thanks guys :) one thing about a panel, unless one has a stack of panel blanks , we try to get it as ergonomic as possible without 20 attempts :) thanks for the positive reply's 👍😁

FWIW - I also Like A - the further the ELT is away from the passenger/copilot - the better!

yes especially since the majority of the time my passenger will be an 8 year old lol

Thanks Greg

I prefer A, and I love that big glove box! Heck you could fit a 6 pack in it.

You could make it out of plastic, don't forget to add a drain hole for the condensation and water, then get some of those freezer ice packs, and when you get to your destination, you can break out a cold one to celebrate. just don't drink then fly, the outcome could be fatal.

Funny you should mention freezer ice packs, i have designed a kitfox air conditioner :) let me find the drawing , on my phone right now, gotta switch to lap top

there are 2 ways to feed this,,computer fans or an outside air source ,..the 2 outlets can be routed to your shoulders on each side,.set it in front of luggage area,...usually if your head is cool,..the rest of you is ok :) not sure if this is like the coolers sold on ACS or not,..never seen one up close
the dark blue are ice packs,,the gaps around them are 1/2" the fan blows in from back and forces air past both sides of the freezer packs then to outlets

I think you have a plan for your panel, no dilemma. :D

If you want to air condition the plane just open the glove box door, but the Six Pack might get warm, you need to check your priorities. The guy that sells the Switchbox has an AC unit, it is basically a ice box, with the frozen ice bags, some water and a fan. Hell in Texas I'll need one this Summer.

well due to my impatience,..I have to redo the N number on the panel,..I should have waited a couple days before I satin clear coated it,..my thoughts were,,if it's laser cut,..the paint should be cured where the laser etched the paint..wrong..

My co pilot wanted to present the photo :) she is such a ham lol

SkyPirate

it had lifted in 2 places,..by the N number and by kitfox outback..I was able to lay it back down with a hair dryer and a roller next to the kitfox outback etching

Chase,

Have you verified the hight & width to assure the 6 pack will fit in? I guess you could always lay them down and slide the in, so you should check if your ice packs will fit.

You might want to add an open container warning.

All joking aside it looks really great.

Hopefully Thursday I end up in Joplin,..and check out Mike's model 4, ..so it might have to wait until the week end to finish it up,.. I know I'm missing my flying time since I started this upgrade,..
