DesertFox4
12-13-2013, 10:30 PM
I like with. But hey, vinyl is easy to make, install and remove as the mood dictates. They may not stay on at 200 knots though.

SkyPirate
12-13-2013, 10:32 PM
lol dang I guess I'm going to have to detune this thing to keep it under that 200 kt vinyl pealing speed lol

at least I'm not caving in my windscreen ha ha :)

I think on would look more "finished". How about talons looking like they are grabbing the tires:D.

I like it, looks cool. only one thing, how do you get in the plane. I always step on the tire. what do you do?

SkyPirate
12-14-2013, 10:18 AM
I back my arse onto the seat then swing 1 leg at a time I'm 6' 210 I have a tougher time getting my right leg over the stick with these dang braces on , my right knee only bends short of 90 degrees with or without the brace

SkyPirate
12-14-2013, 10:24 AM
I'd post a video of how Maddie gets in with the step we made but its the wrong format wlmp?

SkyPirate

Looks awesome, Skypirate!
I'm in the middle of this process, now my PH-FOX actually flies..;-))
And I can't get an idea how to attach the pants to the Groves...like you did.
Is there a drawing of your attach-plates available? The manual doesn't mention Groves, and the SS-manual gives a plate-idea, but that somehow doesn't fit. Perhaps my pants are different, dunno... I bought FOX as a project, and the pants are Spruce, I think.. I can't bend them out so far that one side is at the end of the axle and the other side is outside the Grove.. I miss some 15 mm.
Your solution might not give me a perfect answer (although it sure looks that way) but might give me a different angle to look for...

SkyPirate

The pant bracket goes between the axle and the spring, you have to cut your pant to fit around the brake caliper and there is a round spacer that goes between the axle ( nut end) and the inside of wheel pant, on mine its close to 1.25" or 1.25 / .03937=32 mm

And awesome on getting your fox in the air!!

My brackets actually go around the caliper as well, i should say over the caliper and i have grove brakes and wheels

funny you should say that Steve ,..I just got the furnace going :) I searched my N number a bit ago,..it shows the sale took place,..when I sent the registration and N number change request in ,..I've had an N number reserved for a few years now,..our boys in Oklahoma city re-reserved the number again instead of transferring the N number,..and somehow the registration was misplaced,..so I had to resend a new registration form and re submit for the N number change,..yes had to send another check too

oh well isn't that like 5 bucks. I think you need to paint the strips on the pants and than. put your name under it. put your daughters name on the right side. oh and it looks very nice.

snow and ice. oh heck that stuff is fun in the kitfox.
