Today after it stopped raining and it was too late to go to either fly in that I was hoping to go to, i did some field work and practiced 3 point and wheel landings, no flap and flap, and a few slips, after all that Maddie ( my 8 yr old )wanted to go for a short flight so we did , and she took the stick for the first time in the new plane :) yup Dad is proud today , she did awesome at holding altitude and banking left and right and hold altitude( i operated rudder)
We made a video , i will try to post it here , I will have to upload it elsewhere and put a link here,..too large

Too bad about the weather Chase. Gotta love the daughter flight though.
She's going to be another Patty Wagstaff. I can sense it.;)
Now how much is a new Pitts?

Lol I'd have to start sell ocean front property in my back yard right now to buy another airplane :) she already has a good start on her first, she has named it hawks legend, and i figure 6 years before it needs to be completed

So Chase, what you're saying is she didn't slip to a landing, she flipped to a landing. :D:D

no it's a modified legal eagle 1,..from what I have learned there are 2 single seat and 1 2 place versions..this is the shorter fuselage version with instead of inverted "V" wing attach point over head it's 26" wide and set up for folding wing

Chase,
Enjoy EVERY minute with your daughter!!!

Before you know it, she will be 28 years old, a college graduate, married to her college sweetheart, and expecting their first child in three weeks! You will still have a fuselage to cover and paint; and the left wing still to paint, etc.... She will NOT be into going flying, much less into helping you spray the first coat of Poly Tone "white" on that left wing... but you will still be just as proud of her as you are today!!!

Way to go Dad!

made my eyes open wide Grover :) I have 4 kids ..girl 24,already married and has 1 child ,, boy 21 girl 18 and girl 8 oh and me the biggest kid of the bunch ( so the wife says anyways lol) of them all Maddie has the most interest in flying, so no rush,,will let her set the pace,..and if she comes to that time when she loses interest,..then it will sit,...she also loves to hunt and fish,..all the kids love to fish,..3 out of 4 love to hunt,..1 out of 4 loves to fly,..so I can't complain too much :)

now that would be cool,..I'll have to wait until Maddie is self sufficient enough to get herself off to school :) which right now she is trying the " I don't feel good" thing in the am lol

I have my doors clear all the way to the bottom, I can't imagine having that blocked off. I love looking at my wheels and ground when landing.
