Hi everyone, no obligation but just by my house they are putting in a new airport. This airport is 100% owned by pilots and aviation businesses who want security in owning their own facility. Lots of people are for this airport but naturally a few are against it. A facebook page was just started and it would be great if those of you who are on facebook could show your support for GA airports by liking the page. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Parkland-Airport-CPL6/516141538470933

The benefit of this page is you will get an almost daily construction update on the progress which is fun to watch.

Here is a little info on the airport

Parkland Airport is initially designed to provide an East/West asphalt runway. Phase 1 will be 2600'X100' and if the weather cooperates this fall, it will go straight to Phase 2 which is a 4900'X100' runway. This will also include taxiways, aprons, terminal building, and areas for general aviation services.

The following services are planned:
-GPS Approaches (WAAS)
-FBO
-100LL and Jet A
-Secured Aircraft and Vehicle Parking
-Designated Run-up Areas
-Aircraft Washbay
-Hanger Lot Grading and Drainage
-Single or 3 Phase Electric
-Natural Gas, Potable Water, and Sewer
-Telephone and Cell Service
-Wi-Fi and Wired Internet
-Security Fencing, Cards, and Tracking
-Winter and Summer Maintenance
-Airport Terminal Building and Lounge
-Washrooms and Shower
-Local Transportation Services
-Airport Viewing and Public Events Area
