Thoughts / experience on the value of a fuel primer for the 912 uls?

The factory 912 ULS choke system works fine for cold starts. Can't think of any reason to deviate from what the Rotax engineers came up with for this engine for cold starts:).

I have a primer on my 912UL. I bought the aircraft 1 1/2 years ago from a guy in Mass. who had removed the choke and installed the primer system. I had thought about removing it as I am in Fl but it has worked so well that I changed my mind. I even bought choke cables to do it with but I guess the stuff will stay in the box. Two shots of prime and the engine starts right away no matter the temp. The only downside I can see is to limit the troubleshooting of possible engine problems.

Thanks Dave,
If a guy from MN says something works in the cold, thats good enough for me.
Good to know the primer works also.

I use both as well. And when the weather is below 0 I will use a propane heater to warm up the 912. I fly a lot in the winter and some mornings its 25-30 below. But it starts good when you pre heat her
