Argh. my pilot side sight tube fitting started weeping, and I have not been
at the hangar for a month. Leak is fixed, but I now have some nice light
blue stains in the lower fabric, and flaperon. It's white aerothane (which
YES will stain)

Any suggestion for how to get the stains out? I tried an avgas soaked
rag, but it only got out part.

Thanks,
Jeff

This'll sound stupid, but try Goop hand cleaner (without the abrasive in it). It was recommended to me for getting stubborn exhaust stains off the belly and it works well for that. Might work for the 100LL stains and wouldn't cost much to try. Then you'll have clean hands too.

Try a rag soaked in some 100 LL - after all - the blue crap was originally dissolved in it in the first place - then finish off with another rag with some denatured alcohol or the abrasive free-goop before it dries off.

Goop and similar is great stuff - right up there in importance like 100 MPH tape (duck tape) and 500 mph tape (the aluminum faced sticky stuff).
