Windshield to Cowl Sealing

I couldn't find much by searching the forum.
What is a good way to seal the joint between windshield and boot cowl (SS7) against rain dripping down right into the avionics bay. I have seen some photos where guys have put a strip of black stuff at this joint, but don't know what it is, where to get it, and how well it works. I don't intend to fly in the rain, but worry about rainstorms when tied down overnight, etc.

I used parallel strips of p-channel weather seal (or something like that) one strip above the screws and one below. Have had it in some pretty good rain storms and it works very well. This was at the suggestion of someone else on the group, I will go back and look for the part number.

I used a silicon p-channel tubing from Aircraft Spruce. It seals up well for both wind and light rain.

I used FT "E" Channel 1-1/8" High, 14" Lip on Right Side, 1/16" Groove @ .95 cents a foot from Air Craft Spruce. Great seal, looks good and never had water seep past the seal yet.

There are several ways to accomplish that task..

One we have been using effectively is to use the same 739 adhesive/sealant used when installing the tanks. We do this during the FINAL installation of the boot cowling. It can be a little messy but cleans up pretty good. Have everything prepared for installation and clean-up prior to starting the process.
