Has anyone else ever seen corn husks at-altitude? I was flying home from Hartford, WI yesterday and at 4000ft saw something pale spinning in front of me. I avoided it, and only realized what it was after I saw the second husk floating a little further ahead. How strange! None of the fields that I could see were being harvested, but I must've been at just the right altitude for the thermals to be depositing their debris from the surface.

Yep, dust devils will pick them up (and other stuff too) here in kansas and send them way up. Up drafts will keep them there for a while, on hot days.

Run into a large bug at 8 to 9 thousand feet will really wake you up. After several evasive gyrations you see the large splat on the wind shield. :-)

I snagged a twix wrapper in the cowl of the 172 at 5500'. Was very strange.
