I'm preparing to pickup 7A project I have purchased. Will be removing the wings, horizontal, and elevator to facilitate shipment in an enclosed trailer.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a build manual and am putting together a small tool kit for this purpose. Working from memory from the inventory visit and photos taken.

I believe I'm only dealing with -3, -4, -5, and the trim cable anchor nuts.

This would mean 1/4, 5/16, 3/8/, 7/16, 9/16 and 3/4 nut sizes. I'm considering the lift strut attach points, elevator to horizontal hinges, horizontal attach points, trim cable attachments.

Have I missed anything thing obvious?:o

Screw drivers for sure (for the tail fairing, Maybe a drill if the fairing is riveted, knocking out the elevator hinge pins, undoing fuel lines etc.). Masking tape to mark any wires that might have to be cut when removing the wings if there are no connectors at the root.

Thanks for the feedback Jim!

Can anyone confirm the bolt sizes on the lift strut attach points. I believe the bottom bolt is a -5 and the top ones are -4 (struts to wings).

Thanks

Hi ,
on my model 5( which should be the same as a seven), the fuselage to lift strut bolts are AN6-11.

Lift strut to spar attachment bolts are NAS 1104-16 .

Hope this helps

The bolts that hold the struts to the wings take a 7/16 wrench, but the nuts take a 5/16. The jury strut hardware takes 5/16 and the hardware for the strut to fuse takes 9/16.

Steve,
Thanks for the confirmation on these! I had caught the MS21042 nuts on the strut to wing attach bolts, but the micrometer eye isn't as good as it used to be...
