I would like to get a sampling of what everyone with a 912ULS is getting for oil pressure readings. Had my first start on my engine and everything was good and in the proper ranges, but I have no idea what is normal among the masses and a 912 is completely new to me. Gotta start somewhere.

Thanks,

Dick B

The ROTAX 912 Operators Manual says 29-73 PSI is "normal". I typically see about 60-65 PSI, with about 205-220 degrees F oil temp during cruise..... I've got a 912F in my Kitfox.

Hi Dick,

My 912ULS runs indicated oil pressure @ 80 PSI cold; and, drops back to 60 PSI once the engine has warmed up a bit. The engine has about 200 hours now and the oil pressure has not changed measurably since new.

I am running Aeroshell Oil Sport Plus 4; and, oil temps vary within normal ranges depending on OAT.

I get about the same as Dave (perhaps 10 psi less), 250 hrs on a 912S.

On the two 912s I owned I got around 50 lbs on startup and 32-35 when hot. On the first 912 I changed sending units, gauges but it stayed the same. Figured it was normal. First engine was new, second had 450 hrs on it.

I have a 912ULS with 150h on it. On startup my oil pressure is 60PSI, dropping to 40PSI once the oil has warmed to cruise temps. With an uncovered oil cooler I usually run 180-200F temps, even in the summer. In the winter I cover the oil cooler and see about the same. The hottest my oil has ever gotten is ~220F, though I'm not 100% sure how accurate my oil temp readings are.
