Mod. III covering ?

I am covering the top of my model three and have the old style alum. header tank. If I mount the tank as per my manual under the aft section of the turtle deck and cover that bay with fabric the top of the tank hits the fabric. Do I mount the tank lower-or not cover that bay with fabric? Does anyone have any experience with this? This kit was manufactured in 1993.

You leave the area under the turtle deck uncovered.

On my Kitfox III the tank is mounted so the covering fits.
