What are most Kitfox owners using for fuel. I know the 912 can run on auto fuel and 100LL, but what about alcohol in the auto fuel? Also, how does the 912 do with the extra lead in 100LL?

I think Rotax has said you can use up to 10% ethanol.
I'm sure you will get more informed replies. We used car gas but never used ethanol in our two 912S Rotaxes. You can still get it here at the independent stations.

I run 100 percent Av-gas (100 LL) with Decalin fuel additive. No lead deposit problems so far at 800 hours of use.

The Rotax can use 10% ethanol, but be cautious the fuel tanks may have a server problem with it!

How much ethanol (if any) can a factory stock Kitfox with a 912 operate with? Does Kitfox publish a number? How about Rotax?

In the Rotax operator manual it says you can use fuel with up to 10% ethanol.

there are ways of getting the ethanol out but where I live you can still get premium unleaded without ethanol at shell.

I forgot to mention that the newer planes should have fuel tanks in them that can handle or are resistant to the ethanol, but it is something to make sure of if using fuel with ethanol in it.

I do not think thats Rotax recomends 100 LL in 912 UL

Rotax is fine with 100LL in the entire 912 series given that you use only mineral oil (no full synthetics), changed frequently - 25 hours - and use of a lead scavenger in the fuel to help suspend the lead particulates in the oil.

(This is per both the LEAF and Lockwood seminars I attended at Airventure 2012. I go to these every year if possible.)
