After many years of drooling over the Kitfox aircraft and lurking on this site soaking up the combined knowledge of you all, I finally decided to make the trip to Homedale.
I experienced the warm hospitality of the Kitfox team, got the factory tour, and went for a flight in John McBean's "Yankee Bravo" in less than ideal conditions. I experienced firsthand the great handling, stability, and surprising crosswind capability in John's talented hands.
It didn't take long after that to decide to purchase an expensive Kitfox hat that happened to come with a free airplane kit.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for making this forum such a wealth of knowledge, and maybe soon I will be able to contribute a little myself.
Now the long wait for the kit begins.

HNKD *Happy New Kitfox Day* John. :)

It only takes one flight, even in less than ideal conditions.;)

Congratulations on the best aviation decision you'll ever make. Enjoy that hat.

Now the long wait for the kit begins.I know the kits are selling extremely well. Take the wait time to get your
build location up to speed. You should be able to read your manual through a couple times and the Poly Fiber manual before your kit arrives. You might have time to take in a Poly Fiber workshop too. Oshkosh is right around the corner.

Eric,
I got the firewall back kit with powder coat, Speedster tail, Bottom false ribs, dual brakes, cargo bay, and strut fairings.

As far as the engine, I am leaning toward the 912S but will keep watching the other options. The Rotec Radial would look really good on the nose, just wish it would go on a diet and shed some pounds.

You should think about upgrading to the bubble doors. They not only look cool, but give more shoulder room for bigger people.

Hi John,

I ordered my kit about 6 weeks or do ago. I'm in Grass Lake, MI at 26W. I purchased a Rotec R2800 radial.... We'll have to get together sometime. I have already built several RV's and I have a RV-10 still in the hangar. This is my first venture into a tube and fabric plane, but I have a few neighbors with lots of covering experience.

Take care
