I took my Model III, S/N 910 for it's first flight this afternoon from the turf runway 18/36 at Galt Airport in Greenwood, IL. It was perfect conditions and I had a great ground crew who turned out to be skilled photographers.

The kit was received on Nov 27, 1990 and built by myself and two partners, John and Larry. I think we may have achieved some sort record for longest build by an individual group. It makes me wonder how many other nearly finished birds are out there getting ready to fly.

I've got a short list of squawks to attend to now, but should be back in the air flying off my hours soon.

Thanks to all the list members who've provided much needed information and ongoing enthusiasm to help achieve this big milestone.

I meant to ask, how did she handle? Somewhere in between Paul's Avid and my plane?

Envious is the word. Very nice airplane and the envy is mostly directed being done with everything (FAA) and your test flying field. I still need the Cert. and will have to trailer about 40 miles to Lincoln, CA for my flying and the word around here is that I likely won't be able to bring it home until the entire 40 are flown off. Thanks for the pics.

Larry,
The handling was somewhere between the two with a bit more dancing on the rudders than either. I wasn't able to trim because my flap friction control wasn't holding so I don't think I've got the full feel for it yet. Also, my airspeed indicator decided not to work even though it had gone through calibration just fine. I'll have to fix those items and get back in the air soon.
