In France we use a lot of DUC propeller (French manufacturer).
Mine is becoming old and received gravel chocks so i have to plan to change it one day.
Just to know wich one you use on the kitfox with a Rotax 582.

Thanks you

I've got a Model III with an Ivo Medium 2-Blade quick adjust 70". I have not flown it yet. It is easy to adjust and seems very well made. No complaints so far in my ground runs.

GDN

When I had my Mk 4 with a 582 it had an Ivoprop 3 blade Ultralight prop on it. It was a great performer and the pitch adjustment mechanism is clever as all blades are pitched together with a large central nut that turns to adjust the pitch really easily. This means you don't have to individually try and get them to be all the same as it does it for you.

I loved it and could adjust it for the type of flying I was doing. Ie if I was off on a long cruise I would pitch it up by one turn an get another 8-10 mph. If I was going in and out of short strips I would turn it back and have the best climb performance. They are not expensive either. Another good thing I found is that the blades are quite flexible which means that any small tracking disparities that might exist between blades disappear when the engine is up to speed due to centrifugal force which makes it a wonderfully smooth prop' to fly behind.

I dont know what your approval process is like in France so please check before buying anything.

Try and avoid a GSC Tech prop....

I'm afraid I don't know, but it might be worth sending a message to Fred Colman on this forum as he has my old prop on his Kitfox. I'm sure he'd be happy to do a quick 'spinner to tip' measurement.

Hi GDN
68" 3 blade IVO light on Kitfox Mk 2,582 c/w 3-1 reduction could not be faulted. The IVO light comes in two adjustment ranges, and I do believe that the coarse range would be the best choice for 3-1 or higher.Mine being the finer range, needs to be very nearly fully (coarse) adjusted to obtain 6,200 rpm static.I got great info from the members of this forum when I was looking to change from GSC,thanks guys :).

Hello!

I've got a GSC 68" 3 blade prob with 3:1 reduction at 6200 rpm static at mine Kitfox III with 582 greyhead.
It works with 18 Degree at 75%, 1000-1200 ft/min, 125 km/h at 5800 rpm and 13L/hrs. Also the woodprop looks great....

Flew a GSC for 350 hours (582 greyhead, c-box). Worked well. Quite smooth. Switched to a Powerfin for the next 250 hours for the ability to handle a bit of rain without chewing up the leading edge of the prop. It worked OK also.

Der Regen/Regenschaur

The water (rain) hitting the exposed wood of the propeller will damage it.

Thank you, then I've translated right.

I fly during rain seldom :-)

Hi GDN

This was GREAT advice! Just fitted an IVO Ultralight coarse 3 Blade to my Mk2 with 3:1 Box, having flown GSC for a year. It's a transformation. Currently set about 1 turn positive pitch. 6,200 RPM Gives an indicated 100 MPH. Cruise of 4,800 is just under 80 MPH, burning under 14 Litres an Hour.

Very impressed. Suddenly I need to adjust trim for speed! Haven't bothered for the last year!

Hi Olivier

The possible propeller depend a lot of the gearbox style and ratio.

The IVO is good but the Ward Drive is better for gravel.
