Today I cut the slots in the seat for the seatbelts and am concerned that over time the fiberglass seat could cut/weaken the belts. I realize the plans call for the edges of fiberglass to be sanded smooth, it has been my experience that the stuff can still cut the heck out of most things (skin included). I think some sort of protection should be in place, perhaps the same stuff we use to cover the edges of holes in aluminum through which wires pass.

My Avid used rigid, flat plastic sleeves to protect the belts as they passed through the seat pan. Here's an idea pic, looks easy enough to duplicate.

Steve,

I had the same concern when I installed my seat belts and what I did was to cut lengths of clear plastic tubing the length of the slit opening and then slit one side of the tubing and place them on each side of the fiberglass slit. They stay in place and protect the nylon belt from the fiberglass seat.
