On the risk of starting a known thread:

Did anyone of you try to put on PolyFibre products with a roller, yet?
And if so, how many layers did you do?

Thanks a lot,
hans

I had to patch the belly (around the seat truss) once on my Avid MK IV and I did the patch with a roller. It didn't come out very good. Since then I've recovered that plane pluss the Kitfox 4 I'm building and did them both with Polyfiber. I had never really spray painted anything other than with areosol paint cans, and both paint jobs came out fairly nice. Poly is really easy to spray even with the cheap Harbor Frieght spray gun I used. Having done a bit of both ways before, I would say forget about rolling. Take care, Jim Chuk

That question came up at Oshkosh during the Polyfiber forum. The short answer is no, don’t do it. Using rollers does not get the pressure and penetration first coat of Polybrush. Rollers add too much weight (and expense) on all the other coats.
