1200 has a larger vertical tail by 10", otherwise the differences are in the increase in max weight (lift struts, carry-through tubes, etc.).

Kitfox LLC has a great website with a history section on all the models.

For more info on the 1050 vs. the 1200, try

I have one of each. I bought my 1200 as a project. Then "fell into" a deal on my 1050 as a flyer while I'm "working" on the 1200...

Rick,
I have been flying both 80 and 100 hp Kitfoxes and I would not be unhappy with the 80 hp. But in contrast to that, after having flown both tails I would not want to own the small tail airplane.

I have sent you a private message that has my contact info in it. We should get together and do some flying. We should make sure it is the right airplane for you.

Good Luck,
Kelly
