I have a Garmin GTX 230 Transponder on my panel and went to hook up the coax to it the other day. I was surprised to find that the back of the transponder had a BNC jack I was unfamiliar with. As it shows in the picture below, it has a flared out end and no pins to lock a mating termination (like many bayonet type). Is my assumption correct that this is just a friction fit without any locking the cable in? confusing with all the vibrations we encounter. What am I missing?

I think this is meant to be a slip fit to a mating piece on the installation tray, or is that the tray?, mine had a 90 deg swivel on that fitting. Can I also assume you meant GTX 320?

Yes, my bad...GTX 320 Do you have a back plate that came with yours? I have a back plate that has pins that match up to it, but no other hardware.

Yes mine has a back plate that mates to the slip-fit BNCish connector. The swivel connector is attached to the backplate.

In case you don't have the install manual, see page 12?
