To any Kitfox pilots who are interested, here is a FREE flight planning software app that I used to sell online, but have released as freeware. You should run it in Windows XP emulation mode on Vista or Windows 7 for best results (set AirPlan.exe file properties to XP mode).

Thank You Dean for the generous offer. It looks to be a very good program...did you develop it?

Hi Dan,

Yes, I put out the first version in 1999.

Interesting, looks good!

Does it only cover the USA?

Fly safe,
Rudi

The software works anywhere in the world, but the supplied database only covers North America. At one time the database was worldwide, but then the NIMA (U.S. government agency) restricted the DAFIF (worldwide navigation and airspace data source) so the world wide data is no longer available.

Updated Airspace, Airport, Airway, VOR, NDB, Ostacle, and Waypoint database files are now available for AirPlan that are from the current update cycle. I plan on making database updates available from now on since I have found sources for all of the U.S. data now.

If I get enough support, I will also start making Sectional and WAC charts available for AirPlan.

If you have Vista or Windows 7, I recommend that you run AirPlan in Windows 95 emulation mode (set the properties for AirPlan.exe) as Administrator. Otherwise, it may have trouble running.
