Hi, has anyone ever tried using an inline coolant heater to preheat the coolant and engine on a 912 series ? If so what were your results ? I think it should work . Kevin

Remember only the heads are liquid cooled on a 912. So preheating the coolant will only preheat the heads. It will do little if anything to preheat the oil or the rest of the block.

I don't see much of a benefit there.

Hi , here is what I was thinking. I would put an electric element pad on the oil tank to heat the oil , and then run an inline coolant heater to warm the coolant which will warm the heads and in theory should transfer heat to the rest of the cylinders and block , there are allot of little coolant lines running around the engine that would be giving off heat. And as a bonus the heater in the cab should be warm and give off heat. I don't know for sure if it will work but it seems like it should. Remarks or comments welcome. The second idea is to just put a 250 watt rotax 912 Reiff system on. Thanks; Kevin
