When I was a kid working at the Plymouth Mass airport... I watched a Bonanza come in without gear... the sparks were intense... I went into the hangar grabbed a fire extinguisher, ran up to the plane and the poor pilot was paralyzed... white as a ghost, I opened the door and suggested strongly that he get out. We both sat on the lawn about 200 feet away from the plane and waited for help. He didn't say a word... gear handle was... up.
