Was looking through the new EAA magazine today and came across an add for "viking aircraft engines". It's based on the honda fit engine and looks to be about 30lbs more than a 912 ULS but with 110 hp, MPFI, 40amp alt, etc.

Obviously, its viability remains to be seen, but any first impression thoughts?

Speaking of engines check out the Valach motors 45hp 800cc,7 cylinder radial. It weighs 60 lbs and is intended for RC model use but......

After reading the Viking specs page, I would say that someone is definitely fudging the numbers in their comparison to the 912S. The horsepower figures are somewhat optimistic, and the weight difference is going to be closer to 40 or 50 lbs, if not more.

I wish Honda would build an aviation specific engine, if any company has a chance of giving Rotax a run for their money, it would be them.

Actually the Japanese build and excellent aircraft engine it runs smooth is fuel efficient has a great TBO is reasonable to overhaul and the cost is reasonable, its the HKS 700E and the 700T the 700E is 60 hp and the 700T is 80 hp turbo intercooled good to 14000'.
