Model 5 gross weights

I have come across a model 5 that has a gross weight of 1400 lbs, I know that originally in 1994 - mid 1995 they had a gross of 1400lbs and then were increased to 1550 lbs. I am wanting to know the structural difference if there is any. Any one know the difference between the 1400lb and the 1550 lb model 5's ?

The difference was in the spars. You may have the 1550 wings even though it has a gross of 1400. Best thing to do is email John at Kitfox and find out for sure the thickness of the tubing in the 1550 wings and then just measure them.
