I’m wondering which are the correct strip master blades for this tool I got.
I got it for free as it would stay stuck open when squeezed.
I took it apart and got everything moving nicely.
The 16, 18, and 20 strip nicely but the 26, 24, and 22 don’t work great every time — sometimes they don’t seem to bite into the insulation and kinda stretch it instead of cutting.

I’m thinking those dies are just worn, so I’m thinking making of getting new set— I’m just curious if this is the right set for the M27500 type wire often used?
Or if I’m replacing them is there a better set?

Please forgive my ignorance— electronics is def one of my weak areas of knowledge and skill in this build process.

I recommend you get the set that goes from 10-22AWG. I would think you would very rarely use the 26 and 24. Every once in a while, depending on the wire, mine will do the same thing and not strip. I drop down to the next smaller size and gently squeeze just enough to cut the insulation and then go back to the correct size. It usually works.

The dies may be worn, in which case a new set will fix the problem. Also check that the tool frame is not bent, causing a misalignment between the cutting edges of the dies.

Available die sets are listed here (https://www.idealind.com/us/en/shop/product-type/aerospace/stripmaster/stripmasterr-replacement-blade-set.html). Just grab the part numbers that cover the wire gauges you'll be using. There's some overlap on the common gauges.
