Getting ready to set the overhang on the dash. I'm thinking 1 - 3 inches would be the norm with more for a G3x/Dynon and less for steam gauges?

Anyone with a completed airplane have any thoughts now that you have some time and experience? If you were to change it, would you add more or less?

I have a 2" overhang on the Mangy. I put carpet on the fiberglass glare shield and cut it 4" long and folded it back on itself. As a shade producing tool, it's near useless. As a nice finishing touch, it's perfect.

I agree with Mangy, as a shade producing device it is nearly useless. So do what pleases you for appearance.
I used a 1" overhang and also folded the fabric back under the overhang. I also finished off the edge with a rubber edge extrusion from McMaster-Carr-lots of choices.
