I'm about to install the panel and in my manual, it calls out 21902.000, 3/8" x .035" tubing. I only have 15175.000, 1/2" x .028" alum tube. The 21902 doesn't exist in my inventory papers, and the 15175 tubing is not in the online version of the manual, so I don't have an old version. Can anyone else confirm it's the 1/2" tubing that's now coming in the kit instead of the 3/8" tubing? The 1/2" tubing calculates out to a larger tensile strength so it's ok to use. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not crazy! ;)

Thanks!

Mine are 1/2”… it’s been awhile since I did that part of the build so I’m not sure what the plans call out.

If you built your wings, you used that 3/8" tube for stringers and should have 4 pieces long enough for the job.

I probably have some left but I'm far from home for the next few days

We took delivery of our SS7 kit in October 2021, supplied tubing was 1/2" as called out in the plans.

Thanks for all the replies. Since some of you did have 1/2" tubing I'm not crazy! I'm using the 1/2" since it's stronger than the 3/8". Apparently Kitfox updated their inventory of parts before I got the revision to the manual.

Hey Ralph, just curious. What version and date is your page of the manual? For that page, Final Assembly, Section A, Page 9, I have Rev D from 10/17. That's the same as the version online at the Kitfox website.

I must confess, I have been thinking of my reply for a while and after checking the manual/plans, inventory and parts tag. My plans/manual show 3/8 inch tubing, but when I went to the parts shelf, I looked for the parts, checked the description on the part tag and proceeded.

If you look at the parts tag and inventory, the description for the support tubes show 1/2 inch tube. The page in the manual has a different part number and indicates it is 3/8.

I feel better after correcting my previous post, see the picture attached.

OK! My manual and parts inventory are just like yours. :)
