I am in the home stretch of my install of my G3x and need some input. What oil pressure sender are you using? The stock one has one lead and the G3x manual has 2 leads and a ground.

Thanks,
Dave

I can’t be the only person on the planet with a G3x, Rotax 912 combo or am I?

You have an 912 ULS? I used the leads from the stock rotax one and connected it to GEA-24. If I recall garmin specs how you wire it depending on the part number of the sending unit. Seems like in the wiring examples they show both sending units. I though if you look on the sending unit for oil pressure it had the part number labeled? You then also have to select the correct sending unit in Garmin config to make sure your displaying correct oil pressure. They are off about 10psi if I recall.

Here is the one I installed in my 912ul.
It's possible you might need a metric adapter. I did not in my case.

I was looking into this recently as well. There are a couple different ones. From what I can see they will both work provided they are wired correctly. I haven't powered it up yet so don't trust that diagram but I did write the wiring difference and the part numbers.

So my sender has a red, green and black wire. My harness pins out from 17 and 18. Does the black wire from the sender just go to the ground?

Hi Dave,

Can you provide the part number for the Oil Pressure transducer you have installed on your aircraft?

Thanks,

Justin

Nobody on this forum is using a Garmin oil pressure sender? Perhaps I'll just guess and hope the smoke doesn't leak out of the G3x. If it does leak out, how do you get the smoke back in?

Update..... The Garmin oil pressure sender is made by Kavilco. SteinAir helped me out with the pin out.

What did SteinAir have to say? Could you show the correct pinout?

I knew somebody would ask this, LOL. The answer was on my hanger wall which I visited today.
The Garmin/Kavilco sender requires 5v

This is my last LRU to wire up so your response couldn't have been timelier!
