Anyone have any luck finding an alternative tire for the 6" rims?

I have had Aero Classics 8.50-6 on order since February and still no sign of when they will be in stock. September was last projection date but every projection date has been wrong so far, so I am not holding my breath.

Carlisle makes a "Turf Glide" tire that would fit but I can't find any data on rated load rating. Anyone use these?

Other suggestions?

Really hard to have a brand new airplane sitting here waiting to fly and tires are the only hold up.......Grrr....

Thank You. I searched for this info with no luck.

So 410 Lbs load rating......I guess the carlisle's are out.

Just a note. Guys with Kitfox 1-4 have been running the Nanco N800 smooth ATV tires for years. Not recommending them for you as you have 6" wheels, but the load rating on the N800 is 355 pounds and using them on K-4 1200s has not been any problem. Does that mean the Carlisles your looking at will be OK? Not for me to decide. Just providing a data point.

I know Stick & Rudder sells of their used but not toasted 26" Air Streaks (bed liner ready) for a fair price.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you aren't worried about someone questioning your manhood
I have the 6.00 x 6 tires and tubes my project came with. Not sure of the age but they're
In excellent condition and have never seen 2mph. I'll eventually put them in there classified section for free+shipping

Thanks Alex. I'll check with stick and rudder.

I have the Circa 1994 6x6 tires that came with my kit that I have been using for the build, but mine have some cracks....maybe some dry rot.....
I don't want to take a chance with them blowing out.

If I don't come up with something soon, and I can hide my man card, I might take you up on your tires. Ha....

Thanks

I once bought a brand new set of 6.00x6 AirTracs off the forum that were old/new, they developed cracks right
away, wouldn't buy them again. They crack lengthwise between the treads. Can't fault the seller, but the old kit
tires that are ten years in a shop I would be suspicious of.
