Hi,

First post here. Curious if anyone can list a few companies off that will build a kit for you, besides Kitfox themselves?

Guessing prices are close to what you pay for KF to do it as well but checking all avenues here.

Also, currently what are the lead times of a kit fox built plane vs a kit being delivered to you?

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't quite work that way. A kit build aircraft (Kitfox) is certified under the "Experimental Amateur-Built" (EAB) regulations, which requires that the aircraft is built for the purpose of education and recreation and that 51% was built by the builder. Kitfox does build "factory built" Kitfoxes under the S-LSA rules. You would have to check with Kitfox for the current lead times, but I hear it is at least 18 months (more like 24) for a kit and 2-3 years for a S-LSA.

There are some builder assist facilities around the country that will help you build your kit for a price. They will help to ensure that you stay within the regulations to qualify to certify the aircraft as an EAB.
